Another "good-news" report. Another great Dutchman is designing
add-on cards. Heroes and monsters mainly atm. They have launched
their (work-in-progess) website last week. Make sure to take a look
because if you are looking for more cards, you can find them there!
The site is still in production, but the downloads work!

I am happy to announce that the DD Sound Sampler is back online for download
again! It is a bit more mouse clicks away, but it IS downloadable.

SOUND SAMPLER OFFLINE
I am truly sorry to report this, as i dislike these news reports
very much. I loved all the mails i got from you about this sampler i made,
and therefor feel even worse about this...
Due to my bandwidth/download limits, i had to rip this from
the site (data traffic of more than 4 gig, only for sound sampler). I am
looking for a place to host this file, or compress it more. So temporarely
you have to wait for me to find a hoster, or provide me with info about this.
Hopefully it will be online again, as soon as possible.
Sorry for the inconvenience...

MAP MAKER PROGRAM

There is a new program, which is designed by Andy from
www.madladdesigns.co.uk. This MapMaker program let's you design
your own maps without having the knowledge of photoshop. Some things
are yet to be implemented but you can use/test his program right now !

UPDATE:

Sample Player v.1.1
The only thing we thought was missing was music!
Therefor i added 14 music/ambiences, that offer nice background music,
in 4 main different categories:
Tension
Explore
Spooky
Battle
Also i added Icons for the specific SFX, so you can quickly locate
the right sample at the right time by lookin for the correspondant
Sound Effect Icon. Due to the Music implementation, the size has
gone from 23 to 47 Mb! Sorry for the 56k users, but it's worth the wait!

RELEASE:

Sample Player v.1.0
Finally my 40 hour work session is complete !
Most of the sounds we plan to use are now in the sampler and work!
A new code/script is implemented for fade-in and outs for the
Ambience-Sounds. Due to the limits of the Flash Player
(and partly my skills with ActionScript) you shouldn't open
all the ambiences at once (not simultaneously)
Therefor are 2 things you must follow:
- Use the "LED"-indicators next to the ambience.
RED = loading !do NOT (un)load another ambience
WHITE = playing everything's fine, do what you like
GREEN = When unloading WAIT for the green LED ! ! !
- TRY NOT to Use more than 5 Ambiences at once

UPDATE: DD Sample player v.0.97
Well as said before, the Sample player is in a kind of beta state.
I have improved and extended quite a lot since yesterday. The size
has multiplied 4 times !! (18,5 mb). However there is still space
for some extra monster samples (and there will be more). And also I
will try to get a fade in and out with the ambiences tomorrow.

THE ALL NEW SOUND SAMPLER !
It isn't totally finished yet, but the first beta is available for
download right now. The "IceXuick D&D Sampler" lets you control
all kinds of audio that can be used in the game. Just set up a
Laptop, or wireless keyboard next to the DM, connect it to a
(stereo) sound system
and you can give a D&D game much more
Atmosphere!

Hello again!
After a long time of designen almost
everything else except D&D stuff,
I finally had the time to plan a new D&D Evening with my friends !!!
Well, I just HAD to design a few
new cards for our Adventure tomorrow..
But I just couldn't stop! I designed one card after another. Well...
That resulted in a total of 33 totally new Cards:
13 Potions - 7 Boobytraps - 12 Artefacts - 1 Spell
ALL CARDS ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR DOWNLOAD UNDER THE "CARDS" SECTION
Let me know what you think of the
new Cards, especially the
Potions and Boobytraps. The New spell
is explained below
EXPLAINATORY - TOME OF POWER
With the tome of Power you can cast
Spells on top of eachother.
There are 5 levels of Spells. You must always start with spell 1.
The MP column is the cost of that Level. IF you succeed casting
the spell (by throwing the minimum or more) you may advance to
the next level by adding the Extra
ammount of MP's. If you throw
right, you can reach Level 5 at the total cost of 13 MP and
with that you can do 15 Damage !! If you have some sort of
magic blessing or enchantment, you can double this to 30 !!!
In case you do not throw the minimum
ammount of Swords, you fall
back 1 Level, and do the Minimum ammount of Damage, stated on
the right. Just throw high 5 times
in a row !

I just wanted to say the site is almost at a total of 2500 visitors!!
This happy-ly fact is one i wanted
to share! I never thought this would
reach this high, and I'm pleased people can here find what they need.
Hopefully some new artist will upload
some new cards or rules, so i can update
the download area, and give visitors more than just my own IceXuick designs!

Hello all you enthusiast people out there!!!
After a long time of 'absence' i
have managed to create some time to
update the site!!! YESS i know, it was a LONG time. But all the new downloads
are available at the all new DOWNLOADS AREA, and the forum is now also
linked in the top menu.
For short I can say, many many, very
many thanks to all you people who are
indeed using the forum and are busy configging the game to your own desires,
while using material from me, halbarad, Morcar Cadarn and many more!!
The new Campaign Invisible hands
from Morcar Cadarn is also available in the
DOWNLOAD AREA. Dutch and English. People with new cards or heroes should
really upload their stuff!! I'm sure there are great designers out there!!
Have fun, i will be updating the site every 2 or 3 weeks from now on!!

Well i AM STILL busy with the package.
But then again I have other
good news!! I have designed a Campaign.
A set of 3 succesive
levels that can/must be played one after the other. It us fully
packed with all the new stuff, especially the HQ Monsters, so try
to get a copy of that game to fully enjoy the Campaign.
It was designed with the IceXuick
Map design PSD. So you can also
see what you can do with it. The whole campaign was done within 2
Hours SO you can see, it can be done (quite) quickly!
Also the rules have been added with
some new stuff relating the
HQ board map, and for searching secret doors.
Check the RULES for the new maps!

DOWNLOAD THE ICEXUICK MAP DESIGN PSD (30 MB)

Well i AM busy with the package.
But before that, i would like to
intruduce a new creation of mine. The PhotoShop PSD mapdesign A4
File. It is completely stuffed with all the new monsters that
are downloadable on my site. It also contains all the attributes
from HeroQuest, so people who do also have this great game, they
can use this Map Design PSD to their advantage.
The PSD also contains all the 10
maps included in the D&D game.
And the HeroQuest Map also!
The only thing to do is HAVE Photoshop
installed (6 or higher preferrably)
Download the PSD file!
Then only rests the designing of maps in a sec!!
For people who don't have Photoshop experience READ BELOW.
Download the file above!
CRASH COURSE PHOTOSHOP
Zoom in to a nice overview. 50% will do.
Look at the layers.
The list with all kinds of Layers, probably on
the right side of your screen. See the eyes infront of the
layers
that can be switched on or off. Play with this.
Then choose your maps you would like
to design on. To move your
map-pieces please read on to learn to move and copy things. This
can also be done for moving map-pieces.
Right-Click your mouse on the Thing you like to place.
select the Thing out of the list!
Then select the move tool (the button with 4 arrows)
HOLD down ALT, en
move/copy the Thing from the side to slide it into
your map area. Don't use ALT if you just want to move it around. This
Can also be used to place your map-pieces.
Use the text tool
(button with the T on it) to type or edit text.
After T is selected click on a text made by me and then edit it! As
simple as that!
When done, you can safe
it as PSD, which will be a large file (50 mb
or more) If you want to make a printable version, select SAVE AS.
Then
select jpeg as format and maek your jpeg (quality of 6 is enough)
Print it, in Photoshop
(PS) or with another programs that can print jpegs.
When using PS please select PRINT WITH PREVIEW and then PAGE SETUP. Here
You must select Landscape to get the full quality of the Map.

Allright, sooner then expected!!!
The new painted Creatures and
Attributes!!. With help of a very experienced painter friend of
mine, i managed to get it ready this fast. The Pictures are
in the Colletion Section, so check them out if you like. (they
can also be enlarged!).
For people that have play(test)ed
the new cards and rules. If you
have any comments, improvements or tips, please send them over.
i'm working on a complete add-on package,
with Rules, Cards, Maps,
maybe painting tips, and much more. Herefor i must know if all the
cards work flawlessly and can be added in the Package!!

3 Fully New designed Weapons. They
are Untested (yet) and quite
new for the usual weapon cards. There is still a explaination to
come under RULES, where more complicated cards will be explained.
But as for yet, 3 New weapons.
Also I will finish the painting of
all new Hero Quest Figures.
I hope you will like the photo's of them (next week online)
And maybe get some inspiration out of them.

The Monster Icons of HQ have been
put on the Cards. More sweet
and now also playable on HQ maps for nwebies. Chaos Warrior and
Chaos Champion have been altered. Also Logo's for the Spiders
have been added!

1 New Hero and another 2 new Monsters.
Orc Shaman was updated.
People that want to playtest the new icexuick cards, please

October 11th - 2004 - IceXuick
5 new Monsters have been added. All
come from the boardgame
HeroQuest so people that have
both D&D and HQ can use them
instantly. The Gemli, Deynor and Emanuel Characters have been
Play tested. Gemli's 3 AC was too high as for his +2 axe bonus.
Deynors MP flow was low, and sow CONCENTRATION was added. Emanuel
has a lower MP cost for the Cloak of Protection (which is lowered
to +1 AC).
Also 3 new pictures of my HQ add-ins
are available at the collection
section. Not painted (yet).
Soon new pictures will become available
for my new painted and
dry brushed Monsters and Heroes from my newly acquired HQ box.
Hopefully they are online in one week.
The new Monsters haven't been playtested
yet. So if anybody
has done just that, you can email me your findings!
