THE CHAOS STRONGHOLD
CAMPAIGN
Here is one Campaign I designed.
It are 3 Levels, progressive from
level 1 to 3. It contains especially the new Monsters and Cards from
this site, so if you want to play the campaing, be sure to have them
all Printed and have a Copy of the HeroQuest Game!

The new IceXuick
Rules, or Improved D&D Rules work best when all
Rules are used. It brings more depth
and Fun into your D&D game.
These rules are far from as complicated as the aD&Drules. They
Just Add more game- and teamplay to the game.

DM = Dungeon Master
The IceXuick
Improved Rules are specially designed for
a free gametype in which the DM makes up his own Campaign in
his head, or notes it on paper before the game. During the game
the DM can develop his map, remember traps, place Monsters and
Story events on the spot. If you play D&D this way, it creates
a lot more fun opportunities to expand your D&D Experience
The DM must have some Story and D&D skills to make a campaign
good and challenging, but with this gametype and these rules,
you can get a big load lot more out of the D&D game!!!

1. ON-Top rules ![]()
- When a Monster is killed and taken
to the afterlife,
It can leave Treasures behind.
Which one, and how
many is up to the DM (Dungeon Master)
This can also be Coins.
- Trading
goods (Weapons, Artefacts etc.) takes up one
action and one and another must stand directly next
to each other.
- Heroes may try to Peak
through a door to see some
of the next room. But roll a Star-Dice, A star
means that the Monsters in the room discovered
the peaking hero and the room is alarmed!
- Door can be Breached
when strong enough. The DM
may choose to have locked doors. The heroes may
try and knock it down. A normal door has 3AC & 4HP.
Metal doors have 5AC & 6HP or more. These doors can be
attacked for 5 times, after that the heroes consider
it to be to strong for them.
- Pilars may be laid down to create
obstacles that
can't be walked, but can be shot over.
NEW
- Every wall can be searched for
Secret passages.
The Hero must stand next to the wall he wants to search
and will find a secret door if there is one. BUT
due to the searching, pushing and banging on the walls
the Hero must roll a Trap-Disarm
Dice. In case of the
Explosion symbol, the Hero made too much noise and the
DM may place a 'Wandering' Monster
into a door opening
of the room! the DM desides what monster it will be.

2. Extra Rules ![]()
- When a Monster is Killed, It can
also carry Coins
which can later be used to buy equipment. The HP
and MP chips are used for coins. You can also paint
some chips gold, which represent 5 coins and use
Treasure Chips for 10 coins.
- When a Map/level is Complete the
DM must set-up
a buying round for the heroes.
He can choose the
Cards that are for sale, with a minimum of 8.

Offcourse the DM
can alter the prices to his
satisfaction.
- Monsters can also carry
Weapons, Spells & Artefacts
When the Monster is slaughtered it leaves a treasure
behind in which at least resides these Cards.
- If possible use a timer
to make sure the game keeps up
at speed. Every Hero may think & play for 1,5 min. The DM
receives 3,5 min. So one round keeps to 10 min. maximum.

3. Changed Rules ![]()
NEW
- The team may search a room for
a maximum of 5 times.
Corridors (like in the HQ board) can be
searched, but
only one corridor at a time. A double corridor is seen
as one big corridor, so only one search is needed.
if there's a special amulet for searching, the team
may search 10 times. Original you could search as
often as you like, but this takes away much tension!
- A Ring can always be in use. It
does not affect
the wearer in any way, and is therefor a free
'slot'
on all Characters. With one ring, your artefact-slot
is still free and ready for use!
- The Healing
of Jozan, for returning a dead hero can
be used as often as you want.
NEW
- If you are using the HQ attributes,
like chests, you
now must stand in front of the chest to open it.
